Exosomes are nanosized vesicles secreted by cells that contain various biomolecules, such as proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. When applied topically, exosomes can be absorbed into the skin through several mechanisms:Endocytosis: Exosomes can be engulfed by skin cells through endocytosis, a cellular process where the cell membrane surrounds the exosome and internalizes it into a vesicle.Fusion with cell membrane: Exosomes may fuse with the outer membrane of skin cells, releasing their contents directly into the cytoplasm of the cell.Transcytosis: Exosomes can move across the layers of the skin by passing through multiple skin cell layers via a process called transcytosis.
